A Visit to HMMT

On November 9th, a group of BrUMO team members visited the Harvard-MIT Mathematics Tournament (HMMT) as volunteers through a coordinated staff exchange with the HMMT team. There, we got a firsthand look at the level of detail involved in organizing a successful event — everything from proctoring guts rounds to coordinating volunteer assignments, all while prioritizing a smooth experience for the participants. This collaboration with HMMT not only enriched our knowledge but also served as a fun bonding activity for the team, and we’re excited to bring what we learned back to BrUMO!
